Trump is interested in this Fox News host writing a book refuting Michael Wolff's 'Fire and Fury
February 11, 2018
Michael Wolff burned down book shelves nationwide last month when his controversial book "Fire and Fury" was released. Now President Donald Trump is interested in a loyal supporter's idea of writing a book refuting Wolff.
According to the New York Times, Fox News firebrand host Jeanine Pirro and Trump have discussed the possibility of writing a book responding to Wolff's "damning portrayal" of the Trump presidency. White House officials described the potential project as "No Fire, No Fury."
Trump and Pirro had lunch at the White House last Wednesday to discuss the potential project, the Times reported. Trump even agreed to be interviewed for the book should it come to fruition. More from the Times:
For weeks, the president has seethed about the depiction of him in “Fire and Fury” as a volatile and ill-equipped chief executive, even asking the White House counsel and allies whether a libel lawsuit against Mr. Wolff is still possible. (His advisers have told him no.)
It's not clear if Trump has given Pirro the green-light or if the Fox News host plans to use her upcoming book to respond directly to Wolff's. Pirro's book, tentatively titled "Liars, Leakers and Liberals," is set to hit book shelves on June 12.
It's entirely possible that Pirro is currently re-writing parts of the book to respond and refute Wolff. Or, Pirro may have pitched the idea of writing a completely separate book dedicated to refuting Wolff's account of Trump's White House.
Through Fox News, Pirro told the Times: "My upcoming book is not a direct response to ‘Fire and Fury.’ The title on Amazon always has been and continues to be ‘Liars, Leakers and Liberals’ and I plan to cover all of them."
