Scott Walker warns of 'blue wave' after what happened in this Wisconsin election
April 03, 2018
Governor Scott Walker posted a warning about the possibility of a Democratic "blue wave" in the midterm elections after a liberal Democrat won in the race for a Wisconsin Supreme Court seat.
Here's what he said
"Tonight’s results show we are at risk of a #BlueWave in WI," he tweeted.
"The Far Left is driven by anger & hatred -- we must counter it with optimism & organization," he added. "Let’s share our positive story with voters & win in November."
Some analysts have been pointing to the number of competitive races in districts that should have been very pro-Republican to substantiate the claim of an upcoming midterm "blue wave."
"Big government special interests flooded Wisconsin with distorted facts & misinformation. Next, they'll target me and work to undo our bold reforms," he continued in another tweet.
Big government special interests flooded Wisconsin with distorted facts & misinformation. Next, they'll target me and work to undo our bold reforms. We need to keep moving #WIForward & make sure a #BlueWave of outside special interest money doesn’t take us backward.

"Wisconsin is working with RECORD-LOW unemployment thanks to our reforms," he continued, "but the risk of a #BlueWave puts everything in jeopardy – balanced budgets, collective bargaining reforms, $8B in tax cuts, welfare reform & more."

Walker then tweeted a link to his volunteer page and took the opportunity to ask for donations for his political campaign.
Rebecca Dallet won the Supreme Court seat after an explicitly anti-Trump campaign. Despite her victory, however, conservatives will still hold a 4-3 majority in the court. Still, Democrats are claiming her victory is a bellwether for the midterm elections - no Democrat had won an open Supreme Court election in Wisconsin since 1995.
