‘Nostalgic’ Joy Behar pines for Bush admin on ‘The View.’ Internet remembers how she smeared family.

"The View" co-host Joy Behar said that she longed for the political days gone by during the show's Monday "Hot Topics" segment.

What prompted this?

"The View's" co-hosts discussed the viral photo of the Bush, Clinton, and Obama families (and first lady Melania Trump) that was taken after former first lady Barbara Bush's funeral on Saturday.

What did she say?

In reaction to the photo, Behar said, "This picture made me nostalgic for the America that I grew up in, basically, where there were statesmen running the country instead of con men and thugs."

Co-host Meghan McCain looked mildly taken aback and asked, "Even President Bush?" to which Behar answered, "Yes."

She later added, "Not one of those people in that picture denigrated the press. I think that differentiates all those from Donald Trump. They didn't like the press. There were many acrimonious moments where people got into trouble with the press, you know, even George W. and Clinton. They were not happy."

"But [Trump] goes after the press as if the press is the enemy and makes up fake stories," she added. "That's why they're different from him. That's one of the main reasons why we should be looking at that picture and understanding what we had."

So what has Behar said about the Bushes in the past anyway?

In comments made in 2007 on "The View," Behar called the George W. Bush administration "liars" as well as "murderers."

"I don't know what it’s going to take for people to really wake up and understand that they are liars and they are murderers," Behar said of the administration.

In comments made in 2008, Behar called Bush one of the "worst" presidents ever.

"I don’t like George Bush as a president," she said. "I think he was one of the worst presidents we have ever had."

She also called for his impeachment that year.

In comments made in 2010 on "The View," Behar compared George W. Bush to terrorists.

"But remember, George Bush is the one who said that God told him to go into Iraq," Behar said. "The same as that terrorists say that Allah tells them. And what's the difference between them and Bush? I'd like to know."
