Hillary Clinton uses NYC art festival platform as opportunity to analyze recent Trump-Putin summit

Hillary Clinton used a NYC arts festival on Saturday as an opportunity to launch a critique of President Donald Trump’s recent summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Was it too secretive?

Clinton said the secrecy surrounding the meeting was “deeply disturbing” and “alarming on many, many levels,” Business Insider reported.

"The great mystery is why this president has not spoken up for our country, and we saw this most clearly in this recent meeting with Putin," Clinton reportedly said during a meeting with billionaire businesswoman Laurene Powell Jobs.

She went on to criticize how the format of Trump’s meeting.

Clinton said that when she and former President Barack Obama met with Putin, for example, they always had note-takers to document everything and ensure there was "no mistake about what was said.” The meeting with Trump and Putin only included a translator.

"This idea that somehow we are not sure where our own president stands is deeply disturbing," Clinton added.

Too much is unknown regarding what happened during the meeting between Trump and Putin, Clinton said. She also said the Trump administration has not challenged Putin’s version of the summit.

"Putin is basically telling the world what was decided," Clinton stated in the report. "And we're hearing crickets from the White House. Nothing is being put out that is in any way contradictory or replacing the Putin agenda with whatever Trump was doing."

What was the festival?

Clinton offered her insights at OZY Fest, an event described as a music festival, TED talk and food fair in Central Park. The lineup featured “mostly Democratic politicians, pop musicians, Hollywood celebrity-activists, and intellectuals,” Business Insider reported.

A GQ critic wrote that a poster for the event promised “a weird hot Dada mess of Hillary’s Shadow Government throwing a party at the park. How could this not just be some extremely gentle ribbing perpetuated by one of those Weird Left Twitter rascals, having a go at #TheResistance libs and their not-so-secret desire to make any public event into a TED Talk entitled ‘Hey! I’m Being Civil Here!’ ”
