Broadway star snatches pro-Trump flag from audience member during curtain call: ‘Not at our show!’

A Broadway actor snatched a Trump 2020 flag from a member of the audience during a Wednesday night performance of Disney's "Frozen" Broadway musical.

What are the details?

The incident occurred at the St. James Theatre in New York City during the performance's curtain call when the production's actors were taking their bows.

When the actors queued up for the encore, an audience member in the front row pulled out a Trump 2020 flag and began waving it in front of the performers and for the rest of the audience to see.

Immediately upon seeing it, actor Timothy Hughes snatched the audience member's flag and tossed it behind the performers, toward backstage.

Hughes shared a video on Instagram complaining about the incident and refused to apologize for his reaction.

He wrote, "What does it say about our country and politics when a man at the show tonight felt the need to protest Disney’s 'Frozen on Broadway' with a pro-Trump flag??"

Hughes questioned the notion of how a message of love — i.e., the Broadway production — became "the opposition" to supporting the President.

"How frightening is it that our show’s messages of love, acceptance, and diversity have become the opposition to supporting Trump?" he wrote. "The curtain call is a thank you between actors and audience, a final connection to end a shared experience."

Is he going to apologize?

Hughes continued by writing that he would not apologize for his response to the audience member and his pro-Trump flag.

"I will not apologize for how I responded to the disrespectful man trying to interrupt this moment with a pathetic political platform," he wrote. "Not at our show! Not in front of my beautiful, diverse, talented cast at @frozenbroadway. I appreciate everyone’s support."

He concluded the posting with hashtags #resist, #lovewins, and #lovetrumpshate.

You can see the moment unfold in the video below.
