Carter Page is finally taking action against the DNC, and it's serious

Carter Page, who was the focus of the surveillance by the Obama administration in the run up to the 2016 election, is suing the DNC for defamation.

'There has been just so many lies'

Page revealed the lawsuit while speaking to Sean Hannity on his show on Fox News Monday.

Page is suing the Democratic National Committee and Perkins Coie, the law firm that represents the DNC and commissioned the creation of the infamous "Trump dossier."

"It goes beyond any damages or any financial aspects," Page said.

"There has been just so many lies," Page told Hannity. "You look at the damage it did to our Democratic systems and our institutions of government, back in 2016, and I'm just trying to get some justice in terms of getting some disclosure."

The FISA warrant ordered on Page depended largely on evidence presented in the Trump dossier, which critics say was so compromised as to be unreliable as a source for approving surveillance.

Trump and his allies claim that the surveillance ordered was motivated for political purposes, while former officials of the Obama administration say the investigation into Page was justified by suspicions that he was working for the Russian government.
