‘The View’ co-host says intern committed battery against CNN’s Jim Acosta. She gets shut down fast.

Sunny Hostin, a co-host on "The View," said that she believed the White House intern who attempted to take away Jim Acosta's microphone during a Wednesday news conference committed battery.

The remark didn't go over well with some of her fellow co-hosts, who immediately balked at Hostin's comments — which she refused to clarify after being pressed to do so.

The White House restricted Acosta's access after a confrontation during a White House news conference.

President Donald Trump and Acosta squared off in a heated exchange, and when Trump attempted to move on to the next question, Acosta refused to pass the microphone or sit down.

A female White House intern attempted to intervene and take the microphone from Acosta, but he physically resisted and continued to ask his questions.

During the interaction, Acosta's hand came into contact with the White House intern's arm. On Wednesday, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders called Acosta's actions of putting his hand on the young woman "absolutely unacceptable."

Acosta denied Sanders' claims and said that he didn't touch the intern.

"I didn't put my hands on her or touch her as they're alleging," Acosta said. "It's unfortunate the White House is saying this. I think I handled myself professionally."

Hostin observed this, and during Thursday's show, said that it was clear to her that the intern committed battery on Acosta.

"What I saw was a battery — not by Jim Acosta, but by the young White House aide," Hostin said, noting that the young woman should not have tried to take away the microphone.

"When you are holding something … and you snatch this from me, this cup is now an extension of me. And that means you’ve battered me. You’ve assaulted me," Hostin added.

Co-host Meghan McCain said she believed it was “100 percent” inappropriate for Acosta to have “pushed” away the intern's arm.

Co-host Abby Huntsman incredulously responded to Hostin, saying, "So you’re blaming the woman in this situation?"

“So it’s the woman’s fault for doing her job?” McCain added. “So that White House intern should be arrested for battery?”

"I'm not assigning blame," Hostin responded. "I'm just telling you what the law is."

Shaking her head and rolling her eyes, McCain repeated, "You better go arrest her for battery."

Hostin then quickly changed course and began talking about the footage of the incident and went on to speak highly of Acosta and his reporting record.
