Actress blasts Women’s March for criticizing white women who voted for GOP candidates in midterms

Patricia Heaton, an award-winning actress who is outspoken about her pro-life beliefs, blasted the Women's March on Wednesday after the organization castigated white women for giving their votes to GOP candidates.

What are the details?

The Women's March wrote, "There needs to be accountability and an honest reckoning. There's a lot of work to do, white women. A lot of learning. A lot of growing. We want to do it with you. Stay tuned."

The Women's March Twitter account appeared to be in response to a tweet by Above the Law editor Elie Mystal, who complained about white women voting for white Republican men during Tuesday's midterm elections.

Mystal cited several voting statistics based on gender and race, and added, "White women gonna white."

Heaton, clearly annoyed by the Women's March organization's remarks, fired back, "I know this is hard for you to grasp, but women of all kinds who are pro-science and anti-violence don’t believe that ending the life of your developing son or daughter in your womb is liberating or progressive. It’s tyrannical and barbaric."

The Women's March Twitter account has yet to issue a response to Heaton's fiery tweet targeting pro-choice voters and organizations.

Their initial tweet, however, was largely met with much scorn.

One user responded, "Oh my. You couldn’t be more condescending, huh? Women are allowed to have their own opinions, if they differ from yours, it doesn’t mean they 'have work to do.' But hey, you support Farrakhan, so maybe y’all are just projecting?"

Another wrote, "And yet they claim right-leaning women are controlled by the patriarchy ... while they simultaneously attempt to control them. C'mon guys. If you truly valued free think you'd celebrate the fact that white women don't vote exactly the same unlike some other women I can think."

Editor's note: Patricia Heaton is pro-life, not pro-choice. This piece has been updated to reflect that fact.
