CNN calls Trump move against Pelosi 'childish' — here's what they called Pelosi stunt against Trump

Just a tad bit disengenuous

Reporters at CNN called President Donald Trump "childish" for postponing a trip by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) but their reaction to Pelosi's similar act against Trump was decidedly different.

CNN's Jim Acosta's first reaction Thursday was to call the president "childish" for using his power as commander-in-chief to shut down the Democratic lawmakers' trip.

"Our nation's capital has officially become a playground, Brooke," he said to CNN host Brooke Baldwin.

"The president has responded," he added, "in sort of a childish way is the only way to describe it, to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, to her letter essentially saying that the State of the Union will be postponed."

But the video from CNN's report Wednesday on Pelosi pulling a similar maneuver against the State of the Union address was titled, "Nancy Pelosi pulls power move on Trump."

The report from Jake Tapper on Wednesday was decidedly much more approving of Pelosi's scheme.

"House Speaker Nancy Pelosi sending a clear message to President Trump," reported Tapper, "this is my House."

"Pelosi telling the president to postpone the State of the Union address scheduled for January 29th," he added, "or deliver it in writing as presidents of yore once did."

Tapper also cited a tweet from a Democratic congressman who mocked the president.

"Welcome to life in the New Democratic Majority," the defiant tweet from Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) read.

"Get used to it," Jeffries concluded.

Here's the video of CNN's reaction to Pelosi:

Erin Burnett criticized the president as "childish" and "unpresidential" on Thursday in a long critique of his response to Pelosi.

"The only way to show you how childish this letter is, how unpresidential it is, is to read it to you," Burnett said of the president's letter about postponing Pelosi's trip.

The difference between the two reactions is noticeable.
