Trey Gowdy says Adam Schiff's bias may doom Democrats' Ukraine investigation

Former congressman Trey Gowdy opined that Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) has threatened the Democratic investigation into the Ukraine whistleblower accusations because of his bias.

Gowdy was speaking to Martha MacCallum on her Fox News show on Friday about the Ukraine debacle.

MacCallum asked him to comment on the Washington Post fact checker slapping Schiff with "four Pinocchios," the greatest rating they have for an egregious lie.

"I think he got four only because you can't get five!" he joked.

"I mean he got the maximum sentence you can get from the Washington Post fact checker, and don't you know how hard that was for the Washington Post to give Adam Schiff four pinnochios!" he added.

"He's also a career offender, Martha, he's the same guy who had the parody, a week or so ago, the same guy that says he has evidence that even Mueller couldn't find," Gowdy said.

Schiff was criticized for clearly saying that he had not met with the whistleblower before the accusations came to light, but later admitted that they had come in contact.

"The question I have is how long is [House] Speaker Pelosi (D-Calif.) gonna put up with Adam mishandling this investigation? She's already taken it away from [Rep.] Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.)," Gowdy continued. "But if you're gonna do it, at least don't screw it up, Adam!"

Gowdy said that he hoped the Republicans make Schiff testify about his part in bringing the claims from the whistleblower to light.

"Bias kills investigations!" Gowdy continued.

"And for anyone who wondered whether or not Adam Schiff could be objective, and dispassionate, I never wondered that, but if any of your viewers did, now you know he makes up facts and openings, and he lies about meetings with the whistleblower, when the truth would have served him just fine!" Gowdy said.

"He just decided to lie about it!" he concluded.
