Jeffrey Epstein described as 'evil genius' for action taken just two days before his death

'He is in some way as brilliant in death as he was in life'

Accused sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein may be dead, but he is still causing heartache for his victims.

"He is in some way as brilliant in death as he was in life — an evil genius," James Marsh, a lawyer representing two alleged Epstein victims, told the New York Post.

The reason? On Aug. 8, just two days before his death, Epstein filed his last will and testament dictating what would happen with his nearly $600 million fortune after his death. Epstein's portfolio includes numerous properties, investments, cash, and two islands in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The problem for lawyers representing the scores of accusers who have filed lawsuits against Epstein is that he filed his will in the U.S. Virgin Islands. And because the lawsuits don't name the executors listed in Epstein's will, the suits will have to be refiled, according to the Post.

To compound problems, lawyers representing accusers will likely need to find legal assistance in the Virgin Islands. Marsh told the Post he could take the Virgin Islands bar exam, but he will more than likely hire a Virgin Islands lawyer instead.

It's not clear why Epstein filed his will in the Virgin Islands. The Post suggested he may have been motivated by the increased privacy the islands provide.
