Jordan Peterson says 'thank you' after billionaire Elon Musk announces just how much he'll be paying in taxes this year

Renowned psychologist and author Jordan Peterson has spoken out in support of billionaire Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who recently took the spotlight over a social media spat with Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass).

What's a brief history here?

Musk and Warren squared off on Twitter when Warren called Musk a freeloader after Time magazine named him "Person of the Year."

Warren tweeted last week, "Let's change the rigged tax code so The Person of the Year will actually pay taxes and stop freeloading off everyone else."

Musk caught wind of Warren's complaints and responded with a link to a 2019 Fox News editorial titled "Elizabeth Warren is a fraud — Her lies about being Native America disqualify her from presidency, Senate."

He captioned the article, "Stop projecting."

The SpaceX founder later added, "You remind me of when I was a kid and my friend's angry Mom would just randomly yell at everyone for no reason. ... Please don't call the manager on me, Senator Karen."

Musk continued, "If you opened your eyes for 2 seconds, you would realize I will pay more taxes than any American in history this year. Don’t spend it all at once … oh wait you did already."

CNN has previously estimated that the tech-savvy billionaire could pay nearly $10 billion by the year's end.

On Monday, Musk tweeted, "For those wondering, I will pay over $11 billion in taxes this year."

Peterson, a staunch defender of Musk, tweeted a simple, "Thank you."

Anything else to know?

Following their exchange, Warren appeared on MSNBC's "The ReidOut," where she continued to castigate the tech guru.

"The world’s richest freeloader evidently has a very thin skin," she told Reid during a fiery segment. "But you know the part that makes me angry about this? It’s on behalf of every public school teacher, every waitress, every computer programmer, every street cleaner who actually paid taxes and that means they paid more than Elon Musk did in federal income taxes. And that’s just not right and it means the system is broken."

"But the days when these guys not only get to rake it all in but then rub everybody else’s nose in it while they head off in outer space and declare how they did this all on their own when they were subsidized by the federal government and subsidized by every waitress and public school teacher who paid their taxes," Warren complained. "This is wrong. And Elon Musk needs to eat a big dish of that."
