SNL's Leslie Jones loses it over 'insulting' new 'Ghostbusters' movie: 'Like something Trump would do'
January 21, 2019
'Such a dick move. And I don't give f*** I'm saying something!!'
Leslie Jones of "Saturday Night Live" came just a bit unglued on Twitter, offering a few F-bombs in a rant over news that a new "Ghostbusters" film will ignore the all-female cast she was a part of in 2016, the Hollywood Reporter said.
"So insulting. Like f*** us," she wrote. "We dint count. It's like something trump would do. (Trump voice) 'Gonna redo ghostbusteeeeers, better with men, will be huge. Those women ain't ghostbusteeeeers' ugh so annoying. Such a dick move. And I don't give f*** I'm saying something!!"
Jason Reitman's project will continue the tale that started with his father Ivan Reitman's 1984 original and 1989 sequel, the outlet said, adding that the new iteration has received backlash from other corners.
What else do we know about Jones?
When the "Ghostbusters" reboot was released in July 2016, alt-right provocateur Milo Yiannopoulos tore into Jones on Twitter over her role in the movie — which eventually led to his permanent removal from the platform.
"Ghostbusters is doing so badly they've deployed @Lesdoggg to play the victim on Twitter. Very sad!" Yiannopoulos tweeted, according to USA Today, which added that he also tweeted in reference to Jones, "Barely literate. America needs better schools!" and "rejected by yet another black dude."
After Jones reported Yiannopoulos to Twitter, he was done.
- A month later Jones' website was hacked, exposing her personal information and nude photographs.
- During an early 2017 stand-up routine, Jones said she'd get violent with the next "white woman" she sees who says "black lives matter."
- To her credit, Jones blasted political correctness during an appearance on "The View" last summer, saying "stop walking around so offended — you're not gonna be able to survive life if you walk around offended."
