Hardaway, widely known as "Diamond" from the conservative duo Diamond and Silk, died earlier this month at the age of 51. Her sister Rochelle Richardson is known as "Silk."
The sisters have been ardent supporters of former President Donald Trump, who spoke at a service celebrating Hardaway's life on Saturday — Richardson indicated that Trump footed the bill for the memorial.
"Really bad news for Republicans and frankly, ALL Americans. Our beautiful Diamond, of Diamond and Silk, has just passed away at her home in the State she loved so much, North Carolina. Silk was with her all the way, and at her passing. There was no better TEAM anywhere, or at any time! Diamond’s death was totally unexpected, probably her big and precious HEART just plain gave out. Rest In Peace our Magnificent Diamond, you will be greatly missed!" Trump posted on Truth Social after Hardaway's death.
Trump announced last year that he is running for president again, and Diamond and Silk had noted that he had their "full and complete endorsement!"
A GiveSendGo campaign has raised more than $115,000 since Hardaway's passing.
"Incredibly sad news- may she rest in peace! It was an honor to represent you both in Congress. Jo and I will be praying for your family and loved ones," GOP Rep. Dan Bishop of North Carolina tweeted in response to the news of Hardaway's death earlier this month.
