WATCH: New Dem rep doesn't hold back on first day in office: 'We're gonna impeach the motherf***er'

The new Democratic majority House of Representatives was seated Thursday, and some of the newcomers are chomping at the bit to impeach President Donald Trump.

It's possible that no one is more eager than Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.), who not only published an op-ed in the Detroit Free Press about impeaching Trump, but also got a bit vulgar during a MoveOn event.

Tlaib reportedly closed out her remarks at the reception by telling a cheering crowd "We're gonna impeach the motherf***er!"

In her op-ed, Tlaib wrote that "We already have overwhelming evidence that the president has committed impeachable offenses." She went on to cite obstruction of justice, violation of the emoluments clause, and abuse of pardon power.

While much of the attention has gone to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in the weeks leading up to the swearing-in ceremony, Tlaib had a noteworthy first day in Washington.

Tlaib is the first Palestinian-American woman to be elected to Congress. A photo circulated showing a map of the Middle East in her office. On the map, someone placed a post-it note with the word "Palestine" on it, and an arrow pointing toward Israel.

Tlaib was sworn in using Thomas Jefferson's copy of the Quran, an English translation by George Sale that was also used when former congressman Keith Ellison (the first Muslim-American congressman) was sworn in.

She dismissed the idea that using a Quran would bring any additional criticism.

"My mere existence, that I'm even of Muslim faith, is going to be a problem for them with or without me swearing in on any Quran," Tlaib said, according to the Times of Israel.
