Trump tells Sean Hannity he is 'beyond seriously' considering another run for president in 2024

In it to win it?

Former President Donald Trump told Fox News' Sean Hannity on Monday night that he is "beyond seriously" considering running for president in 2024.

What are the details?

During a wide-ranging interview with Hannity, the former president teased yet another presidential campaign and told the host that he is "looking at it very seriously."

"Beyond seriously," he added. "From a legal standpoint, I don't really want to talk about it yet, it's a little too soon."

Trump did not specify the legal standpoint he mentioned, though he may have been alluding to campaign laws and obligations he may have found himself under had he said he will run. Also, he is currently under investigation in New York over past financial dealings, and Georgia prosecutors continue to probe over pressure on election officials during the 2020 election cycle to overturn his loss to President Joe Biden.

Toward the end of the discussion, Hannity told Trump, "It sounds like you're running. It sounds like you haven't lost any engagement."

What are his plans for midterm elections?

Elsewhere during the discussion, the former president said that he plans to get involved in midterm elections, including helping out with Republican candidates' primaries if necessary, in order to retake Congress.

"Should this now be the Republican Party agenda?" Hannity asked of Trump's "Make America Great Again" and "America First" agendas. "Should anybody that wants to run for the House or the Senate — should they take this 'Make America Great' agenda and fight for those things that you fought for the four years you were president?"

Trump responded, "If they want to win, yes. We've expanded the Republican Party."

"If you want to win, and win big, you have to do that," Trump insisted. "You have to do it."

Anything else to know?

The former president also took a swipe at Biden during the sit-down and said that the ongoing crisis at the U.S. southern border could "destroy our country."

“They're playing it down as much as they can play it down. It's a horrible situation, could destroy our country," he explained.

“People are pouring in. But you'll see something as the months go by like you've never seen before. Already it's like you've never seen before. There's never been anything like what's happened at our border," he added. "People are coming in by the tens of thousands. They're walking in. They — we had — all they had to do was leave it alone."
