WATCH: Startling surveillance video shows what happens when four men turn the tables on an armed robber
March 26, 2019
Thank goodness no one got seriously hurt
A surveillance video captured the moments when four men on spring break were accosted by an armed robber at a gas station and decided to attack him instead of becoming victims.
The men stopped at a gas station in Oakland Park, Florida, at around 3:35 a.m. Sunday morning when a male approached them with a gun and said, "give me everything you got."
The video shows them tackling him and get the gun away from him. His accomplice in the get-away car comes over and joins the fight, but eventually they drive away.
At one point, one of the intended victims grabs the gun and points it at the would-be thieves.
"Once I raise the gun they both took off back to their car and we were just screaming," said Aric Tanoos. "He did raise his hands and he was telling me like calm down, give me the gun, and we'll just leave."
Fort Lauderdale police later captured one of the suspects hiding in a bush after a foot race. They are still searching for the gunman, who they describe as a male with a dark complexion, about 6 feet tall, 210 pounds, with dreadlocks and dark hair.
Here's the video of the altercation:
