Rep. Tlaib: ‘I’m more Palestinian in the halls of Congress than I am anywhere … in the world’

'They weren't ready for us'

Video has surfaced of newly enshrined Democratic Rep. Rashida Tlaib (Mich.) proudly proclaiming that she feels more Palestinian in the U.S. Congress than anywhere in the world.

"Honestly, I've never felt more Palestinian than I ever felt in Congress," the Michigan congresswoman said in a speech earlier this week to the far-left Michigan Coalition for Human Rights. "Even in Palestine when I'm visiting my grandmother, I'm more Amrikiin, American, to the Palestinians. But I'm more Palestinian in the halls of Congress than I am anywhere in the country, in the world. And that just tells you just the fact that they weren't ready for us. They really weren't."

Tlaib proudly celebrated her Palestinian heritage, but when it comes to her Jewish colleagues and supporters of Israel, she rejects their right to do so, often using language that amounts to advancing anti-Semitic dog whistles and conspiracy theories. She has accused her colleagues in Congress who support Israel of having dual loyalties, a popular anti-Semitic canard that claims Jews are not sufficiently loyal to the United States.

Most of the Michigan congresswoman's tenure in the U.S. Congress has been highlighted by two primary issues: her advocacy for Palestinian priorities and her regular, but failed, attempts to build a coalition around impeaching President Trump.

On her first day in office, the "Palestinian-American" who was born in Detroit set a hostile tone toward the Jewish state when she wiped Israel off of her office map. Additionally, she has voiced support for the BDS movement, which seeks Israel's destruction.

Rep. Tlaib has maintained interesting allies in attempting to prioritize Palestinian causes in Congress. She is regularly photographed with the leaders of Islamist organizations and individual supporters of terrorist groups such as Hamas and Hezbollah, which, like Tlaib, seek Israel's destruction. And just last week, Tlaib hosted another terrorist-affiliated activist on Capitol Hill, the Daily Caller's Molly Prince reported Wednesday.

In March, Tlaib attempted to play the victim card when she claimed that someone who left a Post-It note asking her to "stop the Jew hatred" was "bullying" her.

Tlaib is a loyal ally to the Hamas-tied Council on American Islamic Relations. When she is not in Washington, D.C., Rep. Tlaib is usually jet-setting throughout the country on CAIR's nationwide fundraising circuit. It appears to be something of a quid pro quo, as the Michigan congresswoman received massive donations from individuals associated with CAIR and other Islamist organizations.

Tlaib introduced a congressional resolution in late March "inquiring whether the House of Representatives should impeach Donald John Trump, President of the United States of America." The timing could not be worse, as the resolution was introduced just after Special Counsel Robert Mueller exonerated President Trump of unproven conspiracies — which were spawned by the Hillary Clinton campaign — that he conspired with the Kremlin to win the 2016 election.
