Hens happy to say goodbye to roosters

Cam Edwards and Miss E are back this week after Cam’s trip to the annual National Rifle Association convention, held this year in Atlanta.

Because the most-attended NRA annual meeting on record was held in Houston, Cam is already plotting to persuade people in Dallas to make the 2018 event even bigger. “I’m trying to get this little rivalry going like, ‘C’mon, Dallas, you don’t want Houston to have the record here,’” he said.

Speaking of rivalry and tension, Miss E shared her big update from the week: Their roosters have a new home, which is a big relief to the more than a dozen hens they own.

“Our hens are much happier now because there’s not as much inappropriate behavior going on because there’s only the one rooster now, and there’s 14 hens,” Miss E said. One hen in particular had a fateful run-in with two roosters that left her a sad, limping figure.

“So it’s a good thing that there’s only the one rooster that she needs to run away from now,” she said.
