Here’s Jon Ossoff’s theory about why he lost in Georgia

Word on the street is that Democratic candidate Jon Ossoff definitely lost the special election to represent Georgia’s sixth congressional district, fair and square. But based on Ossoff’s interviews and comments from liberals in the media, the left doesn’t seem to think so.

In an interview with NPR, Ossoff pointed the finger at dark money, saying that outside funding from large donors on the right lost him the election. Money in politics is a problem that should be solved by campaign finance reform, he asserted.

The irony is that Ossoff’s campaign had huge funding, making the election the most expensive House race in history. His campaign and Karen Handel’s campaign together spent more than $56 million. Ossoff lost the election by 4 percentage points despite outspending Handel by $19 million.

On Thursday’s “The Morning Blaze with Doc Thompson,” the guys pointed out the irony of Ossoff’s call for campaign finance reform when his campaign was flooded with out-of-state donations.

“I don’t think this is a money issue; I think this is a candidate issue,” Kris Cruz said.

“It’s a message issue,” Brad Staggs added emphatically.
