Attorney General Jeff Sessions issued a memo last week titled, “Federal Law Protections for Religious Liberty,” which outlines 20 principles of religious liberty for “all executive departments and agencies” to observe.
In this podcast, Yaron Brooks details the pros and cons of the document, describing it as “a combination of stuff that’s pretty good and stuff that’s just horrible.” Yaron goes on to say “government intervention in everything in our lives is so wrong” and questions why, in this document, the US government places faith above rational decision making in terms of our civil rights.
“Why is faith now more important than reason? That’s not what the founding fathers wanted,” asserted Yaron.
