MSNBC hosts had crazy reactions to London’s terror attacks

Should police be concerned about “overreacting” when they respond to terrorist attacks designed to kill and injure as many people as possible? On Monday’s “The Morning Blaze with Doc Thompson,” Doc Thompson rounded up a couple of the craziest media reactions to the terrorist attacks over the weekend in London.

Seven people were killed, and 48 people were injured in the attacks. Police have reportedly identified all three of the attackers who rammed a van into people walking across London Bridge and then got out to stab people with knives.

MSNBC’s Richard Lui had an interesting question for a law-enforcement analyst for NBC News, asking if “overreaction” was a concern when police are responding to terrorist attacks.

“When you have analyzed these incidents post facto, as well as during … there’s certainly a risk of under-reaction, but is there any risk of overreaction — of deploying too much?” Lui asked analyst Jim Cavanaugh, who sensibly responded that the issue wasn’t “too many” officers but “a question of using them adequately, smartly.”

In another outrageous example, MSNBC’s Thomas Roberts asked if President Donald Trump’s tweets advocating for his travel ban were an attempt to “provoke” a domestic terror attack.

“You think that he’s sitting there in the Oval Office, going, ‘It’ll be tremendous, I’ll provoke something and I’ll look good’?” Doc asked. “You honestly believe this?”
