‘We grew up fast’: Yaron Brook describes his childhood in Israel

What is it like to grow up constantly aware of terrorism? Yaron Brook talked about his childhood and youth in Israel on this week’s episode of “The Yaron Brook Show.”

As a kid, he learned that you never pick up anything from the street, not even something as small as a pen, because terrorists put tiny explosives into objects. It wasn’t safe to ride your bike over obstacles because you never knew what might happen.

Yaron remembered “listening to reports of kids about my age having been taken hostage by Palestinians and later on killed, slaughtered by them.” The news made him more aware not only of the risk, but also of the value of human life.

Despite the constant threat, kids still played outside, rode their bikes, and explored nature.

“It didn’t prevent us from living,” Yaron said.
