'iCarly' star Jennette McCurdy reveals HEARTBREAKING childhood abuse in new memoir, 'I’m Glad My Mom Died'

In her new memoir "I'm Glad My Mom Died," Nickelodeon's Jennette McCurdy, co-star of "iCarly" and "Sam & Cat," reveals how she suffered years of abuse as a child, not only from her mother but also at the hands of “the Creator” (an anonymous big-wig at Nickelodeon).

McCurdy claimed she was offered $300,000 in "hush money" if she agreed not to talk publicly about her experiences at Nickelodeon, which included being pressured to drink alcohol while underage and wear revealing clothing in addition to at least one particularly creepy unwanted "massage" from “the Creator.”

On "The News & Why It Matters," Hilary Kennedy (filling in this week for BlazeTV host Sara Gonzales) and guests discussed some of the most shocking revelations detailed in McCurdy's debut memoir and how long this kind of terrible abuse has been happening in Hollywood.
