RARE SPECIES: Chicago pro-life Democrat targeted by the left faces uphill battle

Rep. Dan Lipinski (D., Ill.) is in the fight for his life as progressive Democrats and national pro-abortion and LGBT rights groups continue to rail against the pro-life, anti-Affordable Care Act Democrat.

He's a rarity and on the verge of extinction if far left Democrats have their way.

The Democratic primary will be held in his district March 20th and his opponents are far left-leaning and completely on the abortion masked as women's rights bandwagon.

"In Chicago, a Democratic incumbent is targeted by the left," read a headline from Reuters.

NARAL and the Human Rights Campaign are all resisting Lipinski simply for his pro-life stance and his objection to the Affordable Care Act. According to the Washington Free Beacon, Obama aides are also behind Lipinski's demise. His opponent, Democratic candidate Marie Newman, received an endorsement from Sen. Bernie Sanders (I., Vt.) in early March.

"Marie will fight for Medicare for All, a $15 an hour minimum wage, and providing workers with benefits such as paid sick leave, while protecting Medicare and Social Security. She will defend women’s rights, LGBT rights and ensure immigrants have a safe path to citizenship," Sanders wrote in the endorsement.

"It would be a disaster" if Democrats succeeded in expelling him said, Lipinski. "We need to make sure that we are a big-tent party."
