On Friday's episode of "The News & Why it Matters," Sara Gonzales, Stu Burguiere, Jason Buttrill, and Jason Howerton discussed the leaked plans for illegal immigrants to be moved to sanctuary cities around the United States.
What information was in the leaked emails?
According to the New York Times, the White House had discussed plans to move the overflow of illegal immigrants to sanctuary cities near border towns.
"The idea has been raised by on to two principals that, if we are unable to build sufficient temporary housing, that caravan members be bused to small- and mid-sized sanctuary cities." — May Davis

According to reports, Trump said the idea should make liberals "very happy" as it would fall in line with left-wing immigration policies.
What did trump have to say?
According to the Times, Trump addressed the issue in an on-camera speech and stated the following:
"We are looking at the possibility, strongly looking at it to be honest with you," he said on Friday in response to a question about the proposal.
"We might as well do what they always say they want," Mr. Trump said if Democrats do not agree to new immigration policies. "We'll bring them to sanctuary city areas and let that particular area take care of it," he said, adding that California welcomed the idea of more people coming to the state.
"We can give them a lot. We can give them an unlimited supply," he said.

In a statement, Ashley Etienne, a spokeswoman for Speaker Nancy Pelosi said: "The extent of this administration's cynicism and cruelty cannot be overstated...using human beings — including little children — as pawns to demonize immigrants is despicable, and in some cases, criminal."
