Sara Gonzales: 'If you are going to report on a manifesto, report the whole damned thing.'
August 06, 2019
MSM selectively reported El Paso mass murderer's manifesto
On Tuesday's episode of "The Chad Prather Show," Chad sat down with BlazeTV host Sara Gonzales and discussed the recent mass murders that occurred in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio, over the weekend and the irrational social media storm that has ensued in the days following the two tragedies.
"They are treating Ohio completely different than they are treating El Paso. Something that happened within 14 hours of each other," Prather said. "You do not blame a huge swath of society for the actions of one criminal."
Gonzales took issue with the coverage of the El Paso gunman's manifesto because of the selective snippets in which CNN and MSNBC reported. She argued that reports from the mainstream media about the manifesto painted a partial picture.
According to Gonzales, she was not certain that "elevating" a mass murderer was the right thing to do, but if a media source decided to report on the killer's "story" then they should publish the full story rather than selecting the details that fit a specific narrative.
"If you are going to report on a manifesto, report the whole damned thing," Gonzales said.
