Spanish law enforcement say lie detector VeriPol is 80 percent accurate
A new artificial intelligence program is being utilized in Spain, where officials say the lie detector — called VeriPol — has helped them crack down on false robbery reports.
The program was developed by British scientists at Cardiff University, and uses a combination of text analysis and AI to flag lies or embellishments made by people filing police reports. The tool is exclusively utilized to deter citizens from making fake or exaggerated theft claims for the purpose of collecting insurance payouts, according to The Telegraph.
