Donald Trump Jr. excoriates 'Jeopardy!' winner Ken Jennings for picking on 11-year-old Barron
June 01, 2017
Former "Jeopardy!" champion and children's book author Ken Jennings felt the wrath of Donald Trump Jr. after Jennings mocked President Donald Trump's 11-year-old son, Barron, over his reaction to the grisly photo shoot featuring Kathy Griffin holding a model of his father's bloodied, decapitated head.
“Barron Trump saw a very long necktie on a heap of expired deli meat in a dumpster," Jennings tweeted on Wednesday. "He thought it was his dad & his little heart is breaking.”
Trump Jr. took issue with Jennings' mocking of the child and fired back, calling Jennings a "real man."
“It takes a real man to pick on an 11 year old," Trump Jr. tweeted on Wednesday. "Yet another low from the left, but they will rationalize this away with their usual excuses.”
Unapologetically, Jennings responded and said, "I will kill as many white rhinos as it takes to prove my masculinity to Donald Trump Jr."
Trump Jr. on Thursday called Jennings' publisher out on social media for seeming to stand behind their client's Twitter tirades.
“You would think that in this day & age @simonandschuster would have an issue with one of their children’s authors bullying a kid,” Trump Jr. wrote.
Many people railed against Jennings in response to his thrashing of the president and his son, and did not hesitate in calling him out on Twitter as a result.

I don't give a damn if you agree or not. You target little kids, while writing kids books... He has it coming

what a sad little man to mock a child for being upset at the thought that someone had killed his father. As a kids writer you should get it

Just goes to show you, black hearts behind smiling faces. So ashamed of you.

Despite the major outcry against Jennings' comments, his tweets are still available to view to date, and he has yet to acknowledge the blowback he received as a result of picking on Barron.
On Tuesday, Griffin, who took part in a photo shoot with celebrity photographer Tyler Shields, was photographed and recorded holding up a model of the president's decapitated head.
After facing major backlash from both the left and right, Griffin apologized on Tuesday night.
“I am sorry. I went too far. I was wrong,” Griffin said in a Twitter video. “I sincerely apologize. I am just now seeing the reaction of these images. I’m a comic, I cross the line — I move the line, then I cross it; I went way too far.”
She continued, “The image is too disturbing. I understand how it offends people. It wasn’t funny — I get it.”
“I’ve made a lot of mistakes in my career, I will continue,” Griffin said. “I asked your forgiveness, taking down the image, gonna ask the photographer to take down the image, and I beg for your forgiveness. I went too far. I made a mistake, and I was wrong.”
Despite her apologies, Griffin was fired on Wednesday from her duties as co-anchor of CNN’s New Year’s Eve broadcast, which she’d hosted alongside CNN host Anderson Cooper for the last 10 years.
“CNN has terminated our agreement with Kathy Griffin to appear on our New Year’s Eve program,” a tweet from CNN’s official public relations Twitter account read.
