Boy, 5, cries at stranger's doorbell cam, 'Will you help me find my mommy?' School bus driver dropped him off at wrong stop — on his 1st day riding bus, mom says.

A video of a 5-year-old Oklahoma boy crying at a stranger's doorbell camera and begging, "Will you help me find my mommy?" is going viral. His mother said his school bus driver dropped off the kindergartner at the wrong stop — and on his first day riding the bus, no less.

What are the details?

Kelly Mulholland said in TikTok video her son along with the daughter of her boyfriend were supposed to get off at a bus stop at Napa Valley Road and Bristol Park Boulevard in Edmond on Monday afternoon, the Oklahoman reported.

Instead, the bus arrived an hour late at the stop — and without the children, the paper said.

Turns out, the pair of 5-year-olds were wandering a neighborhood for an hour after being let off at the wrong stop, the Oklahoman said.

"My literal worst nightmare happened," Mulholland recounted in the video which was posted Tuesday, the paper said. She added in the clip that she and her son live with her boyfriend and his daughter.

The paper said Mulholland asked the bus driver where the kindergartners were dropped off, and when the driver didn't recall the exact location, she said in the video that another child on the bus told her the pair had exited the bus at the previous stop.

With that, Mulholland began looking around while her boyfriend went to the school, Charles Haskell Elementary, the Oklahoman noted.

Soon a neighbor drove up to Mulholland and asked whether she was searching for two kids, the paper said, adding that Mulholland said in her video that it was the neighbor with the Ring doorbell camera who said the security device notified him about the children's presence.

With that, the Oklahoman said Mulholland noted in the clip that she and others began knocking on doors around the area and finally found the children a few houses down from the home where the Ring doorbell camera recorded them.

"I am so incredibly proud of these kids," she said in the video, the paper noted. "They would alternate ringing doorbells. One would go up, and one would stay on the sidewalk to keep watch."

Mulholland added, "I'm not sharing this to scare anybody, but I think this is a cautionary tale. You need to teach your kids what to do if it happens," the Oklahoman added.

More from the paper:

The Edmond school district's policy is for bus drivers to only drop off students when a parent is present, and young students either have a wristband or a tag on their backpack identifying their bus.

According to the district, Edmond school bus drivers have received updated printouts of which students get off at each stop and have been reminded to individually check each student as they exit the bus.
