'Tax the motherf**king rich!' Climate protesters with pitchforks take over elite golf course in the Hamptons, claim it is stolen Indian land

Environmental activists equipped with pitchforks and a whale suit invaded an elite Hamptons golf course and chanted "tax the rich" and expletives, terrorizing golfers in videos posted to their Twitter account.

As reported by Barstool Sports, a group of environmentalists going by the name Planet over Profit boasted on their social media page about taking over Sebonack Golf Club in Southampton, New York.

Rumored to be one of the most expensive golf clubs in the world, the elite group allegedly requires a $1 million fee to join, as well as monthly dues, according to Barstool Sports.

Protesters yelled expletives such as "tax the motherf**king rich!" and anti-golf sentiments. One protester is seen dancing in what appears to be an orca costume, while others heckled golfers and confronted employees. Signs can be seen that read "Your greed = Climate chaos."

"We took over the wealthiest Hamptons golf course this morning," the group wrote on Twitter. "Here, they pay a MILLION dollar membership fee to play the world's stupidest and most ecocidal game. It's disgusting how the billionaires who destroy our planet for business come here and do it for pleasure."

While some young activists screamed "shut it down!" others claimed the golf course was actually on stolen native Indian land. "Whose land? Shinnecock land!" they yelled while walking on the well-kept grass.

"The Sebonack Golf Club is built on stoeln [sic] ancestral Shinnecock land [.] To build the billionaire's club, they tore down a center for union workers and pushed them out so they could have a vacation spot for their ecocidal game," the group claimed.

The Sebonack course reportedly sits directly next two other high-profile clubs called the Shinnecock Hills Golf Club and the National Golf Club. All three clubs are seated on the doorstep of the Shinnecock Indian Reservation, home of a federally recognized tribe.

According to the New York Times, "the tribe has had repeated disputes with the town and has seen its land steadily shrink to its current 900-acre reservation."

"It has sued seeking reparations and the return of thousands of acres, including the Shinnecock Hills Golf Club, where the U.S. Open has been played five times."

Planet Over Profit's website describes the group as "a new youth-led movement based in New York, using people power and direct actions to take down the fossil fuels industry and the billionaire class selling our future away."

The activists also claim the "hottest summer on record" is due to "billionaires who keep profiting off coal, oil, and gas while we live under yellow apocalyptic skies and constant flood warnings."
