Hunter Biden reveals he's gone to rehab 6 times — smoked crack on his way to one facility

Hunter Biden revealed that he has been to rehab facilities six times since 2003 during a court appearance where his plea deal allegedly fell apart before a federal judge.

The hearing, in which Biden pleaded "not guilty," was supposed to be a proceeding where the first son pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor tax crimes and was to accept a pretrial diversion deal for a felony federal gun charge. The agreement would have allowed Biden to avoid jail time and prosecution for the gun charge.

However, prosecutors admitted the investigation into Biden is ongoing and may result in new criminal charges, including foreign lobbying charges.

At the same time, the 53-year-old first son was forced to reveal his drug and alcohol use, as he was being prosecuted for allegedly lying on a form to obtain a firearm, the Daily Mail reported.

"I've attended treatment facilities for addiction, your honor," Biden reportedly said. "I've been to, I believe, close to six inpatient over the course of 20 years."

The president's son also noted he's been to outpatient facilities, too.

"For addiction to alcohol, primarily, originally, your honor ... drugs also, yeah."

Biden claimed he was last in rehab in 2018 but has been sober since 2019 before the judge warned him that he may be subject to future random drug tests under his release conditions.

Much about his drug use and rehab stints was printed in his 2021 book "Beautiful Things" and chronicled the times he fled from rehab as well, according to the Daily Mail.

"I tried to quit drinking when we returned to Washington, in 2003. I'd stop for 30 days, then binge for three. I couldn't get control of it," he said of his first rehab stint in Antigua.

Then, well after his father became vice president, he started drinking again in 2010, only to return to the same treatment facility in the Caribbean country.

Another part of his book detailed going to rehab in 2014 in Tijuana, Mexico, only to start drinking again in 2015 after the death of his brother Beau.

At one point, the owner of the "laptop from hell" had his drug dealer move in with him.

Another instance of going to a rehab facility in Arizona, in 2016, was widely detailed in news reports. Refinery 29 reported that after Biden bought crack from a homeless person in Los Angeles, he didn't sleep for days because he "needed a way to forget."

The Daily Mail noted that on his way to the Sedona, Arizona, facility, he was smoking crack all the way there. He only stayed for a week.

After having a relationship with his deceased brother's widow in 2018, he attempted ketamine infusions as a form of therapy. He described the results as "disastrous" and went back to smoking crack.

A 2019 intervention eventually took place, where Biden alleged that he attempted to run from the house, at which point then-presidential candidate Joe Biden chased him down, "grabbed [him], swing [him] around," and hugged him.

He agreed to check into a Maryland rehab that night. Instead, he checked into a hotel.

"For the next two days, while everybody who'd been at my parents' house thought I was safe and sound at the center, I sat in my room and smoked the crack I'd tucked away in my traveling bag," Biden wrote.
