74-year-old Wisconsin teacher faces over 600 years in prison after being convicted of 25 counts sexual abuse on 14-year-old boy

A 74-year-old Wisconsin woman faces over 600 years in prison after the former private school teacher was convicted of 25 charges related to the sexual abuse of a 14-year-old boy.

Anne N. Nelson-Koch was convicted on all 25 counts connected to repeated sexual assaults on a minor. The trial took three days, and the jury deliberated for just hours and returned with a guilty verdict.

Fox News reported, "Nelson-Koch, a teacher at a private school in Tomah, is said to have assaulted the teenage boy in the basement of the school several times during the 2016-2017 school year."

At the time of the alleged child sex crimes, Nelson-Koch was 67 years old and the victim was 14.

Assistant District Attorney Sarah Skiles, the prosecutor in the case, said, "The victim of these crimes is an incredibly brave young man."

"He spoke the truth, and the jury heard him loud and clear," Skiles said. "We are so grateful to the jury for their dedication to finding the truth."

Skiles thanked Paul Sloan of the Tomah Police Department, who led the investigation.

Skiles said, "We could not have achieved this outcome without the victim’s strength and Investigator Sloan’s dedication and thorough investigation."

Prosecutors asked that Nelson-Koch be held in jail until sentencing; however, Monroe County Circuit Court Judge Richard Radcliffe granted the former teacher bail and she was released with the stipulation that she wear a GPS monitoring device.

Nelson-Koch is scheduled to be sentenced on Oct. 27 – when she faces over 600 years in prison, according to statement by Monroe County District Attorney Kevin Croninger.
