The man who had an affair with Kamala Harris says that no Dems will beat Trump — including Harris

No love

Willie Brown, the former lover of Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris, has come forward to express his beliefs that no one — not even Harris herself — has a chance at defeating President Donald Trump in the 2020 presidential election.

Wait, who is this guy?

In January, Brown, a former mayor of San Francisco, revealed that he engaged in an extramarital affair with Harris more than two decades ago while he was a married man.

He also self-reported that he may have helped bolster her burgeoning legal and political career during their time together.

"I may have influenced her career by appointing her to two state commissions when I was Assembly speaker," he admitted. "And I certainly helped her with her first race for district attorney in San Francisco."

Harris has not publicly addressed Brown's remarks.

What are the details?

In his weekly column in the San Francisco Chronicle, the 85-year-old Brown said there are no viable Democratic candidates.

"The first Democratic debates proved one thing: We still don't have a candidate who can beat Donald Trump," he wrote. "California Sen. Kamala Harris got all the attention for playing prosecutor in chief, but her case against former Vice President Joe Biden boiled down in some ways to a ringing call for forced school busing."

"It won't be too hard for Trump to knock that one out of the park in 2020," he added.

Even though Harris couldn't stand up to Biden, according to Brown, that didn't absolve the former vice president of any wrongdoing during last week's debate.

"Biden himself did zero favors by telling Harris that he opposed only busing that was ordered by the federal government," Brown added. "It was a weird endorsement of states' rights and local jurisdictions' right to segregate schools. That's the best argument he could marshal against busing little kids miles across town?"

He added, "Trump must have enjoyed every moment and every answer, because he now knows he's looking at a bunch of potential rivals who are still not ready for prime time."
