Video: Juvenile body-slams uniformed Detroit cop in attempt to steal his gun; perp's underage accomplice pulls piece of his own

Surveillance video caught the moment when a juvenile male tried to steal a gun from a uniformed Detroit police officer before a knock-down, drag-out wrestling match ensued inside a gas station store over the weekend.

What's more, the perp's underage accomplice was seen on the clip pulling a gun of his own amid the melee.

What are the details?

WDIV-TV reported that the officer stopped for gas Saturday on his way to a Taylor Swift concert to join the show's security detail at Ford Field. While the officer was standing in line inside the BP gas station store at Joy and Southfield Roads, WDIV said video shows one of the males making his way toward the officer and reaching for the officer's gun.

The clip shows the male tackling the officer against a shelf and then taking the officer's gun before the cop fights back.

The attacker actually body-slammed the officer to the floor. Authorities told WDIV that the second male at one point aimed the handgun at the officer.

The officer didn't give up, though, and was able to retake his gun as the battle continued, WDIV said.

The crook's accomplice, who pulled his own gun, didn't appear do much beyond that:

Both males fled the store, and no shots were fired during the fight, WDIV said.

What happened next?

Police said the two males in the video surrendered peacefully Monday, WDIV reported in a follow-up story, noting that both males in question are juveniles.

Police added to the station that they haven't found the gun one of the suspects is seen holding in the video and that the motive for the attack still remains unknown.
