This is why the month of Ramadan is now characterized by violence

Why are jihadists most active and violent during Ramadan, a supposed month of atonement, peace and personal reflection? Dr. Zhudi Jasser asked this question during this weekend's "Reform This!"

He described Ramadan as an opportunity for Muslims to "look deeper into our scripture," their faith, and their selves. "Every human being wants to be able to create...and demonstrate the ingenuity that God gave them." Ramadan is meant to help achieve a state amenable to that process.

But Jasser pointed out that the reason there is more violence during the Muslim holy month is the same reason there is also more on Friday, the holiest day of the week for Muslims: because the dominant voice in Islam are the Islamists who believe in global jihad.

He said Islamists do not believe faith is spread by humility or knowledge or compassion, but by violence, oppression, and hypocrisy. Their nations are not democracies that treat their people like equals.

He also drew attention to the fact that we can hardly think of any free market products aside from oil that come from Islamist nations. Other cultures thrive off the ingenuity of creating products because they don't thrive from or control natural resources.
