Watch: Cub Scout was kicked out for gun control question – what was the real story?

What happened?

An 11-year-old Cub Scout had to find a new den after getting extremely detailed in his questions for a Colorado state lawmaker.

Ames Mayfield read from a printed sheet to ask Republican state Sen. Vicki Marble about gun control reform, listing statistics with Americans’ opinions on the issue, the Associated Press reported.

"There is something wrong in our country where Republicans believe it's a right to own a gun but a privilege to have health care. None of that makes sense to me," Ames said.

Have the Scouts responded?

The Boy Scouts of America declined to comment on the incident or explain why Ames was kicked out of his den. According to his mother, who filmed the exchange and posted it on social media, the 11-year-old will join a den in a new pack at his church.

Glenn’s take:

Why do kids in fifth grade and younger need to hear and learn to spout liberal talking points? Did Ames really come up with his detailed, nearly-2-minute question for the state senator on his own?

“If this is what you want to teach your kid, that’s fine. … But we know this is coming from Mom and Dad,” Glenn said of the questions.
