Man shoots wife at point-blank range during marketing stunt. This is how it ended.

Colombian entrepreneur Miguel Caballero, designer of a bulletproof clothing line, demonstrated the viability of his product on an unlikely target: his wife — and this wasn't the first time he'd done it.

Caballero's MC Armor clothing line recently expanded its market to the U.S., and to demonstrate his product's design, Caballero and his wife, Carolina Ballesteros, filmed an attention-grabbing promotional video.

The tense moments before the shot

Caballero appeared reluctant and stressed to test the bulletproof tank top Ballesteros was wearing.

Many of Caballero's employees gathered around the scene with cameras at the ready, waiting to catch the moment their boss shot his wife.

After several moments of heavy breathing, stretches, and silent concentration, Caballero pulled out a .38 pistol and aimed just inches from the bottom of his wife's sternum.

Ballesteros hardly flinched as the bullet struck her stomach.

"Now I understand why doctors don't operate on their own family members," Caballero joked at the end of the promotional video.

During the video, Caballero said, "Ever since the company started, we've done demonstrations on people."

"For the last two years, we've been keeping track of the people we've shot," he added. "So far we have records for 224 — almost 230 — people who have been shot."

According to the Miami Herald, Caballero opened a distribution center in Miami, Florida, three months ago. His first clothing shop was opened in Bogota, Columbia, 25 years ago.

Caballero's products will be sold in Florida gun stores, as well as in select California and Texas locations. The stores will carry various items from Caballero's clothing line including tank tops, blazers, vests, jackets, and custom-made products.

The base price of the tank top modeled by Ballesteros starts at $495.

"I swore to myself I would never do that again," Caballero told the Herald. "But she’s trying to open up the American market and I’m helping her in every way I can."
