Viewers are choosing re-runs of Hanna Barbera’s Yogi Bear over CNN. During the week beginning June 26 and ending July 2, Don Lemon and Anderson Cooper came 13th in the ratings, while the smarter-than-average bear and connoisseur of picnic baskets clocked in at 11th on Nick at Nite.
CNN has found itself in repeated trouble as they commit numerous errors in content and judgment. From the hunting down of a private consumer who critiqued them with old footage of President Donald Trump, to reporters crafting false narratives on Twitter, to resignations over unverified stories, the news network is being tuned out in favor of reliable fare like Yogi.
Chris Salcedo joked, “Watch us steal the ratings picnic basket!” on today’s “Chris Salcedo Show,” making a reference to the hungry bear’s famous line. He also explained that cable networks do not immediately falter financially because cable companies such as Comcast and Spectrum pre-purchase the programming -- but we could be seeing the beginning of CNN’s failure.
