President Trump sent a clear message to the terrorist regime in Iran Tuesday afternoon, advising Tehran that restarting its nuclear weapons program would certainly result in grave consequences.
During a press conference at the White House with visiting French President Emmanuel Macron, President Trump warned:
“It won’t be so easy for them to restart. They’re not going to be restarting anything. They restart it, they’re going to have big problems. Bigger than they’ve ever had before.”
“You can mark it down,” the president added. “They restart their nuclear program, they will have bigger problems than they’ve ever had before.”
The president also called attention to Iran’s nefarious activities throughout the world.
President Trump has until May 12 to decide whether the United States will remain a party to the Iran nuclear deal. His guest, President Macron, supports the deal and is lobbying the president to reform it instead of terminating U.S. involvement in the accord.
During the press conference, the president remained steadfastly opposed to the deal but remained open to fixing it.
“It was a terrible deal. It should have never, ever been made,” President Trump said. “We made this terrible deal but we’re going to discuss it.”
"We're looking forward to doing something but it has to be done and it has to be done strongly," he added. "We're fairly close to understanding each other. Our one-on-one went very well."
