Ben Carson says Trump isn't a racist, defines the 'real racism in our society'

'If you are of a certain race, you have to think a certain way. And if you don't, you're some kind of a sell-out or a traitor'

"America" host Eric Bolling spoke Thursday with Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Dr. Ben Carson about claims that President Donald Trump is a racist.

Broadcasting from the 2019 Conservative Political Action Conference in National Harbor, Maryland, Bolling and Carson talked about former Trump attorney Michael Cohen's testimony Wednesday, during which he claimed his former employer is a "racist" and a "con-man."

"I suspect [Cohen's] trying to find a way to mitigate some of his sentence and he's hoping that people will look more favorably upon him," Carson said. "He recognizes that there are large numbers of people who have Trump-derangement syndrome, and he can ingratiate himself to those people."

"I think the real racism in our society is on behalf of those people who believe that if you are of a certain race, you have to think a certain way. And if you don't, you're some kind of a sell-out or a traitor or some horrible thing. That is the epitome of racism," Carson added.
