Most males over the age of 30 can describe in great detail the iconic 20" x 28" poster from 1976 featuring Farrah Fawcett in her red swimsuit. Tens of millions of posters and knock-off were sold around the world and continue to sell thanks to Ebay and digital imaging.
The poster that launched a million fantasies and the red swimsuit worn in that poster are headed to the Smithsonian in Washington DC. Thanks to a generous donation from Ryan O'Neal, Fawcett's longtime companion, the Popular Culture section of the Smithsonian is a much richer place.
