A new requirement from the New London, CT school board will mandate that all students must know English in order to graduate from high school.
Before anyone starts screaming about racism or how unfair this new rule is, consider the facts behind New London, CT's stipulation that high school students must be proficient in English before they can receive a diploma.
1. The rule will not be applied until 2015
2. Students will have several different tests from which to choose
3. You have until your 21st birthday to establish that you have a reasonable grasp of the English language.
News 8 in Connecticut has the story.
H/T to Garth Maier of KTBB radio for the heads-up.
