See NBC Spoil Its Own Olympic Coverage by Showing Commercial Announcing Winner...Before It Airs Actual Race!

The Twitter hashtag "NBCFail" has gained steam since the Olympics opened last week. In fact, one journalist has been suspended for too much criticism on the social networking platform. And if ever you needed an example as to why that idea is taking off, here it is.

NBC didn't help its cause on Monday night by airing a promo for the "Today" show showing 100M backstroke winner (and 17-year-old phenom) Missy Franklin with her gold medal. The only problem? NBC had not yet aired the gold-medal race, and in fact had just teased it as coming up. Twitter quickly erupted. Business Insider caught the flub:
