Thursday night is set to be Republican vice presidential candidate Rep. Paul Ryan's time to shine, as he squares off against Vice President Joe Biden in the first and only debate between the two. For political observers, Paul Ryan's rise through the national ranks has been expected and well noted, but in Thursday night's debate the Wisconsin Republican has the chance to show everyday Americans his true self beyond the characterture Democrats paint of him. Ryan is a different kind of figure than previous Republican vice presidential candidates in that he is young yet already very battle-tested inside the beltway, and brings a scientific and quantitate approach to policy.
