African-Americans: According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the unemployment rate for blacks jumped nearly a full percentage point -- up from 13.4% in September to 14.3% today.
The unemployment rate for Hispanics also inched upward, from 9.9% to 10% in October.
Women were also struggling more to find work in October as their unemployment rate shifted up to 7.2% from 7.0.
