The Top 10 'Most Patriotic' Cities and Historical Sites for the Fourth of July

It’s that time of year again!

It’s time for all good patriots to fire up the barbeque, throw some burgers, chicken, and brats on the grill, and start blowing stuff up.

It’s what the Founding Fathers would have wanted. After all, today is Independence Day.

And just in time for the U.S.’ annual celebration of its independence, here are the top ten “most patriotic” cities as well as the top ten “most popular” historical sites on Fourth of July, according to the location-based social networking website Foursquare.

For most patriotic cities, “Foursquare looked at check-ins at parks, firework retailers, and parades on July 4, 2012,” the study explains. “The cities with the highest jump in check-ins” are ranked as follows.

“Similarly, for historical sites,” the study adds, “Foursquare looked at the highest number of check-ins on July 4^th, 2012, at different historical sites across the nation. They are [also] ranked according to highest number of check-ins on Independence Day 2012.”

So, without any further introduction, here are the top 10 most popular monuments and patriotic cities for Independence Day:
