Gibbs: Obama should pull out the Oval to address NSA scandal

Media

Former Obama White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs has been critical of his former boss on the government-spying front, arguing that the administration should be more transparent on the issue. He continued on the matter in a New York Times story Wednesday about the decline of televised Oval Office addresses.

“When the president speaks from the office that he occupies, and where he sits to make some of the biggest, most important decisions in our country, I think it’s a piece of real estate that fits what you’re trying to talk about and the decisions that you’re trying to grapple with,” Gibbs told the Times. “It would be a perfect place for an N.S.A. address."
