Is This Tree in Front of a Cathedral Weeping 'Tears of God'?

"I said my prayer and asked for him to give me a miracle cause I'm really, really sick."

A growing group of the faithful are flocking to a tree outside a church in Fresno, Calif., insisting it weeps "God's tears."

"When you say 'glory be to God in Jesus' name' the tree starts throwing out more water," resident Maria Ybarra told KGPE-TV of the tree dripping liquid in front of St. Johns Cathedral.

However, a professional in the field of studying trees says there's a scientific explanation for the phenomenon.

"The aphides will suck the sap, the sap goes through the aphid and then it is a honey dew excrement from the aphid and it gets so heavy in the summer that it will drip down," said local arborist Jon Reelhorn.

Still, believers continue to huddle under the tree and pray.

"I said my prayer and asked for him to give me a miracle cause I'm really, really sick," resident Rosemarie Navarro said.
