Police Shoot Man After Possible Attempted Hijacking of Metro Bus in Downtown Seattle

"Shooting happened just before 9am near Benaroya Hall."
A man has been shot by Seattle police officers after he allegedly shot the driver of a metro bus multiple times in a possible attempt to hijack the vehicle.
"A man suspected of shooting a bus driver multiple times Monday morning was shot by police after he fled through downtown Seattle," a statement released by the Seattle Police Department said.

Police say the suspect has been taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
A local reporter for Seattle Weekly, Forrest Pettrich, said "people streaming off the bus" confirmed to him the shooter was trying to hijack the bus.
In an interview with Q13 Fox, a woman in the area said a witness told her a "a man just got up and went and started shooting at the driver."
The 67 year old driver of the bus did not appear to suffer life-threatening injuries, according to police.
Police added that one of their officers suffered minor injuries, possibly from broken glass, during the incident.
